The main difference: in Spy Game, the spy doesn't know the secret word and must guess it by listening to others' questions. Mafia is a survival game with player elimination, while Spy Game is a deduction game with question exchange. Spy Game is faster (5-10 minute rounds), while Mafia can last an hour. Both are great for groups, but Spy Game is simpler for beginners.
